LOWER GRIPPER JAW REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

 

 

The new lower gripper jaw (#PSA-251A) is made of S7 tool steel heat-treated to Rockwell C45.

 

  1. Remove old lower gripper jaw. Grind weld area free of rust, slag, and paint.
  2. Clamp new lower gripper jaw in place as located on weldment drawing.
  3. Preheat new lower gripper jaw and weld area of probe arm to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Weld with supplied 1/8" diameter Harris Super Missleweld rods. Use 90 to 110 Amps, DC reverse polarity.
  5. Post heat area to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, then allow slow cooling.
